The Blood Clan War
The Conflict
Prelude
An unusal lack of activity preceeded the start of the war. Seasonal skirmishes ceased for about a year. To the Elves, it seemed that the shock of the First Fires Assault was being felt by the whole world, or at least had given pause to the Erditi Tribes, who treated the presence of the Elves on their border as an existential threat. In actuallity, the Tribes were being reorganized under the leadership of a warchief that held a blade of unique power.
Deployment
The uncanny calm was shattered when the Seventeen Tears came under simultanious attack. Thanks to the patrols that the Elves maintained in the area, the commanders of the forts were able to assess the enemy's strength before the situation became an encircling siege. The forts were abandoned, except for the three in the mouth of the pass between the Twin Aster Mountains.
Battlefield
The Plainsmen were relentless, pressing all fronts without pause. Scores of attacks were launched out of small passes in the Twin Aster Mountains into the Green Road. These strikes drew Elven forces away from the main siege at the forts that remained garrisioned. Large contingents of Erditi forces also treked north and south of the mountains, threatening the Green Road from the north and the The Nusauri Kingdom in the south.
Outcome
The Elven Kingdom reeled from the destruction and loss of life, following so swiftly behind the First Fires Assault only a few years earlier.
Aftermath
The Kingdom's western border was silent and the Tribesmen did not engage in their seasonal skirmishes for several years.
