Oko

The scrappy kid brother to the more celestially impressive moons Regni and Furiam, Oko is scarcely more than a large asteroid moving quickly enough to sustain a low orbit around Oa just outside of its ionosphere.  It is irregular and potato-shaped, and it tumbles through the sky at a clearly discernible rate of rotation.  It is not at all uncommon for Oans to enjoy an evening of skywatching, from sunset through Oko's acrobatics, to watching Furiam or Regni rise or set, into the sunrise.

Cycle

Oko's orbit is only sustainable at its significant velocity.  It cycles more than once a day, often setting and rising in the same night.  Astronomers and astrologers on Oa consider it "full moon" only where Oko is not already in the sky at sunset, meaning that Oko is in full on alternate nights.

Cultural Interpretations

Unsurprisingly, Oko's place in global mythology varies much more significantly than the pure blue Regni and the volcanically active Furiam.  Some cultures interpreted Oko as being the other moons' baby; or kid brother; or even bodily waste.  Halflings have the most positive primitive interpretation of Oko, believing it to be a sigil of Yondalla and a harbinger of plenty: a sky potato.  Orcs dismiss Oko entirely, not even considering it a moon but using a term that translates literally as "sky rock".  Interestingly, the only culture that views Oko negatively is the Gnomish one -- and not for mythological reasons.  The gnomes are convinced that Oko's orbit is gradually decaying and it, in fact, is the prevailing existential threat to life on Oa.
