Imperium Astrorum
One of the largest and most powerful empires of known space. Ruled by the Dium Imperator Maximillian. After the fall of Republica Calypsa, Imperium Astrorum reforged itself from the ashes of the Western portion of the Republic. Originally a petty kingdom like so many others, the empire has seen something of a golden age under the rule of the Dium Imperator, a powerful mage and gifted military mind who found a path to ascension. Imperium Astrorum has reformed itself into a strong religious and military state.

The empire has been a primarily agrarian region for an extended period. It has also been attempting to recover from The Sundering. As one of the most diverse and materially abundant sectors of known space, the empire is considered one of the largest exporters of agricultural commodities. They also supply a great deal of the galaxy's raw pharmaceutical materials.
A rich culture of art and craftsmanship makes up much of the luxury commodities that are exported throughout the galaxy from the Empire. However, after the ascension of Maximillian, they had a drastic shift into defense manufacturing (i.e. weapons, shielding, and starships).
There is also an extensive illegal slave trade that operates within the empire. It is officially condemned by almost all of the galactic governments including the empire itself, however, its presence in the empire is extremely profitable and beneficial in the empire and as such it is often overlooked by officials.
