Crossroads

The Crossroads has quite a unique history behind its formation as a city. At a junction where all cities of northern Eban come together by road the merchants of each city would set up temporary trade tents. This led to organized times where the traders would agree to meet each season. As trade and profitably grew so did the length of times the trades were set up. And so it goes until this started happening all year around. As soon as people started putting down real roots here it became a city with the very clever name of Crossroads.
Now the situation in Crossroads is much more tense since the fracturing of the Empire. It has become a checkpoint dividing the Amberlight Commonwealth and the Drasillian Empire. The people here view each side of the checkpoint as part of the same city and all consider each other neighbors.  Agents of the Empire seek to undo this comradery to destabilize the area and pave the way for potential war or reunification. Though tensions mount the citizens of both nations continue to find a way to make profitable trade amongst each other... and gamble those profits in hidden gambling halls.
