Drasillian Empire

The Drasillian Empire was founded within the last century. At the height of its glory it was called the Denesari Empire  and stretched from the northern tips of the Ebas continent in the Rime down to the southern reaches of the Frei Ocean.
During the period when the Drow began to build surface homes in the south the Empire was quick to respond with fear and violence. Fear and pride drove the Empire to strike first against these new residents they perceived to be invaders. This attack became known as The Savages War and lasted for years with massive casualties inflicted on both sides. The Dragon Knights  of this time were the premier military force of the Denesari Empire  and were deployed in full force. An all dragonborn force of elite soldiers and mages this was thought to be the trump card to end the war. Responding in kind the Tetheas Dynasty formed their own elite group - Dawn's Light. This escalation in violence naturally would lead to devastating magic raining down upon both the Dynasty and the Denesari and would form the world-changing anomaly known as The Tear.
Ultimately the Tetheas Dynasty won this conflict. Licking their wounds and fleeing north the Empire began to crumble and splinter. The Emperor, Drasil the First, began a propaganda campaign laying the blame on the Dragon Knights and was successful in turning the people against them. This common cause to get behind put a halt to the faltering empires descent. Dragonborn themselves were soon outlawed, becoming criminals by virtue of their race. Rallying behind 'common enemies' of both the Tetheas Dynasty and Dragonborn, and with a new name, the Drasillian Empire began to recover its strength and unify the people back under its banner. Only the West and Northern coast remain independent but Emperor, Drasil the Second, has eyes on correcting that.
In the Empire service to the military is compulsory. Between the ages of 16 to 22 if you are living in the empire you are required to give 2 years of service. This service can be anything that the Emperor seems of value. Farming, weapon and armor crafting or repair, ferrier, carpentry, fletching - all of these trades and more are taught to the citizenry. Drasil's colors are black with a simple depiction of a single white rose with thorns
