Kararehe Wairua - "Soul Beasts"

Big Cats of Raiona
The Kararehe Wairua are a collective of Magickal Beasts that have bonded with the warrior women of Raiona. The beasts mostly resemble large male lions but with the defining stripes of tigers. They stand at an average of two meters high at the shoulder, and almost three meters in length. Their fur is short outside of their prominent mane and sandy tan in color. Their backs and the top half of their legs are covered in unique stripes, ranging in color from dark brown to black. Covered in powerful muscle, the beasts are extremely powerful, able to leap great distances and overpower most targets that make contact with. Their Magickal capabilities cover their enhanced strength, stamina, and senses, along with the abilities they have with their bonded companion.
Soul Beasts
When a daughter is born in the village of Raiona, a Kararehe Wairua is often born on the same day to mark the event. The two are bonded from birth and are raised to become inseparable from one another. As the girl comes of age in the village, she will go through a bonding ritual to enter a pact with the beast. The two will draw blood into a dish which is then passed around between the huntresses of the village and blessed before being returned to the pactmakers. Both parties will drink of each other's blood, now enchanted with the ancient magicks of the Raiona tribe, and their souls will be bonded for life. They then flee the village, either into the jungle or the desert beyond, not returning until they have made their first kill as a team. The belief is that the greater the kill they return with, the more powerful their bond will be.    After being bonded together, the two are able to share their thoughts and minds to a great extent. Their senses are combined, able to see and hear through each other's eyes and ears. The two can also share their thoughts, though while the Risen is fully able to speak mentally with the beast,  the Kararehe Wairua is only able to communicate basic thoughts and emotions with their partner. The bonded pair will become as extensions to each other - although they may have occasional disagreeances, they are often in sync together, one mind, two bodies. The pair live together, hunt together, eat and sleep together. The only separations they take after being bonded is either in searching for a mate, or in death.
