Stargazer

The Stargazer is the nominal head of House Starym , of Elvenhome.  It is the rank given to the individual who has contributed to the family's study of the world the most.  This is almost always the Eldest of the the family, but there have been elves who have held this title that were not the elder.  
The Stargazer leads the family, and makes most decisions for the family in relation to their interaction with the rest of the Elven community.  The Stargazer represent the family to the King.

Qualifications

The Stargazer must be well versed in the movement of the Stars and other celestial bodies.  They must be able to demonstrate the ability to interpret these movement, to guise the family in trying times.  They must also be capable of using True Elven Magic.

Appointment

The Stargazer is appointed by the previous Stargazer before he dies.  If he dies without appointing one, the eldest of the house becomes the new Stargazer.

Accoutrements & Equipment

The Stargazer carries the Staff of the Cosmos, a powerful Elven artifact.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The Stargazer can only be removed form office by their death.
