Shoal Islands
The Shoal Islands are a groups of islands southeast of Syr. They are so-called because the area around them is treacherous for ship to navigate through due to unexpected hallows and reefs. While there is a safe passage into the island chain it is complicated and only known to a few. This makes the Shoal Islands a perfect base of operations for pirates who have created a type of society here.
The main settlement is called Haram Bay and is ruled by Olivya Dain. Not much is known of Mistress Dayne, but she has a great many connection, not only amongst the Pirate crews that use the Bay as their base of operations, but also on the mainlands. She is able to sell much of the cargo the pirates bring in without being asked too many questions.
The Shoal Islands are also home to a group of natives called the Mocar. The Mocar farm and hunt on the islands and use small canoes to travel between the islands. The relationship between the pirate settlers of Haram Bay and the Mocar are tenuous at best. The Mocar that live near the bay are mostly employed by Mistress Dayne to tend to her Drudane crops. Drudane, the plant that is used to make make Hesh, a potent drug favored amongst Pirates and others, grows plentiful on the Shoal ISlands and is another source of wealth for Olivia Dayne. The further from Haram Bay you get though, the most you will find Mocar that look at the settler of the Bay as invaders who are enslaving their people for false comforts, and getting them addicted to Hesh to keep them working.

Geography
These islands of Shoals southeast of Syr, about 300 miles from southport. The tropical islands are surround by coral reefs and sand bars that making reaching the island difficult to anyone that does not know the complex route needed to approach the island. Other trying find thiers ships grounded of the hulls torn.
The islands themselves are tropical paradises. Lush Vegetation, abundant fish, and thick forest with plenty of game make the islands a perfect retreat for those that can get to it.
There are about 18 in all but many are small barely support and eco-system. The larges Mosaw is about 35 miles across. Manib, and Makee, the next two largest are about half the size and the rest are all smaller than that.
