Empress Athika Wilder

Athika Wilder was the first Emperor of the Teardrop Sea Islands, but her list of accomplishments goes far beyond. She was an inventor, engineer, architect and musician/composer, credited with many technological advancements during the early Age of Acceleration.
Her skills designing ingenious city defences were in high demand in the decade preceeding the formation of the Teardrop Sea Islands, when the southern region of Pagrir experienced great unrest, and her work saved millions of lives. She was made advisor to the king of Kirvi shortly before he died, which occurred two days before he was due to travel to Allkingdom for the election of the first Emperor. With the support of Kirvi's citizens, she went in his place, and in a motion that surprised most, was subsequently named Emperor of the Teardrop Sea Islands.
During her reign as Emperor, Athika brokered peace in Pagrir, settled hundreds of land disputes, and laid most of the groundwork for the land laws, which were not passed until years after her death. She also began a free education system, set tax limits for monarchs, and designed an inter-island travel network which made travelling or delivering mail across the Teardrop Sea easier and cheaper.
