Overview

Kori (Sigtaara: "in-energy") is the living flame carried by all beings of Fir'Gol.
Though present from birth, it often slumbers deep within the soul, requiring experience, will, and awakening to bring it forth.

The journey through Kori is personal — shaped by one's essence — and unfolds through six sacred stages, known collectively as The Path of the Inner Flame.

No two beings walk this path alike, for the flame bends itself to the heart that bears it.

The Six Stages of Kori

Stage One — Slumber (Ko'Surhul) – The Path of Unseen Embers

"The ember unseen."

• The default state of most living beings.
• Kori lies dormant, its presence unnoticed but ever patient.
• Individuals live by instinct and mundane strength, unaware of the deeper well within.
• Only extraordinary emotion, trauma, or discipline can disturb this stillness.

Stage Two — Stirring (Ko'Gornazil) – The Path of the First Tremble

"The first breath in the ashes."

• Moments of extreme need, crisis, or inspiration cause Kori to quiver within.
• Signs are subtle: a sudden surge of strength, a clarity of thought, a moment of impossible endurance.
• The individual feels that something more lies beneath their skin — but cannot yet grasp it.

Stage Three — Ignition (Ko'Wokazil) – The Path of Soulkindled Flame

"The first spark."

• A conscious awakening of Kori occurs.
• The bearer senses their inner Flame distinctly for the first time.
• Abilities sharpen, instincts strengthen, emotions grow deeper.
• However, control is minimal — bursts of Kori may come wildly and unpredictably.

Stage Four — Kindling (Ko'Larkzil) – The Path of the Steady Burn

"The steady flame that feeds itself."

• Through discipline, meditation, struggle, or joy, the bearer learns to summon and steady Kori.
• The inner Flame begins to align with the individual's soul:
• The wrathful may become living storms.
• The wise may weave subtle, unseen strength.
• The joyful may radiate resilience and healing.
• Kori now evolves in a direction unique to the heart it serves.

Stage Five — Flameweaving (Ko'Yolhak) – The Path of the Woven Flame

"The weaving of the living fire."

• Full mastery of Kori.
• The Flame is no longer just personal — it can connect with the Kori of others.
• Masters of Flameweaving are said to sense the pulses of nearby life, binding allies in unseen unity or bolstering the spirits of those around them.
• Some describe the sensation as "hearing the hidden songs of the soul."

Stage Six — The Expansion of the Inner (Ko'Vooklazil) – The Path Beyond the Flame

"The Flame becomes the Horizon."

• A legendary state, rarely achieved even among the greatest masters.
• Kori expands beyond the limits of body and mind, becoming a living presence within the world itself.
• Those who reach Ko'Vooklazil are said to leave echoes of themselves imprinted upon the land, blessing the soil, the sky, and the hearts of future generations.
• In this state, self and world no longer exist as separate.
