Church of Madness
Structure
A hierarchical religion with cultists who progress through levels of initiation from neophyte to deacon to Initiate upon which they are made into Cthulids who become part of the Intercession. Those who are not choosen are given the rank of Bishop and oversee the humanoids who are converted as well as communities in secret.
Culture
The Church of Madness is a front for recruitment to the Cthulid Intercession. It promotes worship of the Elder Gods and masks it behind the idea of Madness as compassion through Nyarlethotep. It trains humanoids as deacons to spread the message and then will eventually make them Cthulids if they are worthy.

History
The Church of Madness was founded by the Cthulid, Rh'ktekh'ta, to create a front for recruiting humanoids and spreading Cthulid influence without drawing as much attention or Teth'Null interference. The holy texts were written by his first round of recruits from Aguila.

Mythology & Lore
The primary myth is that of Elder God supremacy and showing them as avatars of freedom who were sealed by the Faery Courts who wanted to rule all. The Elder Gods granted humanoids free will before they were imprisoned. The Elder Gods did slip through the cracks every so often to connect with their beloved children. The myth encourage followers to focus their worship on the Elder Gods and spreading their influence. This myth and the tenants of faith are taught from the Necronomicon which is also the ritual guide for the clergy. A partially translated version is available as a prayer book to followers.

Founded by the Cthulid Intercession to build a humanoid follower base and increase the influence of the Elder Gods in the Material Plane.
Cosmological Views
Portrays the Elder Gods as avatars of Freedom and Madness (compassion) which needs to be brought into the world. It teaches that Nyarlethotep is the patron of the religion and sneaks between worlds to help them.

Worship
Sacrifice of animals to the Elder Gods, prayer and proselytizing. Reading of the Necronomicon daily is encouraged but only for clergy. Most worship is done in Abyssal, whic his required to be learned before moving up in the hierarchy.
Priesthood
An ordained group of Deacons, Paladins and Bishops who spread the faith, defend it and organize it respectively. Based on study tutored by mentors in the Church.
Granted Divine Powers
Many members are warlocks, especially amongst the clergy.
Political Influence & Intrigue
Tries to infiltrate most governments and other religions through influence, espionage, blackmail and conversion.
