The Road Continues

After the strange storm of the day before the group took extra care in keeping an eye out for places of shelter. The last thing they would want was to be caught off guard when something new happend. And yet they could not anticipate what happened next. As they were walking through the forest they suddenly felt as if they were getting lighter and shortly after they started hovering above the ground unable to return. The chaotic magic of the forest had suddenly create a no gravity zone.
Luckily they could grab some trees to hold on to and avoid drifting higher into the sky. The next problem, however, was finding a way to actually move further as it seemed the effect was not deminishing. With some clever uses of ropes and hooks they managed to band together and used fire magic to propel themselves forward. Just as suddenly as it started, they dropped to the ground once they left the affected zone.

During the middle of the following day yet another obstacle came upon their path. Before them there appeared to be a clean river flowing through the corrupted forest, which seemed out of place. Given everything that had happened before the group decided that it was best to investigate. This time, however, there was not really any danger as the river was just an illusion on top of a dry riverbed. The group decided it was safe to cross and continue their journey. The perceived safety did not rest long as a strange vortex was seen on their path. Once the group got too close it became obvious that it was a living being somehow and attacket them. In itself it was a formidable enemy but on top of that it summoned a strange chaos corrupted being that used the crystals on its back to attack them at a distance. Eventually the group managed to defeat both allowing them to rest for the time being.

Shortly before reaching an area devoid off petrified trees the party was ambushed by several Chaos corrupted humanoids. Even though they were smaller in size to what they encounterd before in the forest it was still a challenging fight.
Later in the day the group reach the edge of a large crater. Once they scaled its edges they could get a clear view of what was inside, the Divine Golem! They made contact with Tanajin who started the process of repairing the machine shortly after arriving. During the repairs, however, the golem started to malfunction, promplty shooting its weapons in in all directions. What started as a carefree afternoon soon became a quest for survival. With some teleporations and quick movements the group managed to survive the encounter. But they saw first hand how the machine's large gun had teared a river sized hole in the landscape.
