Arrival in Averton Report

General Summary

Arrival in Averton

9th of Irami’el 1245 AE
Problems had been brewing in all of the more remote regions of Terios since the end of the war. Being attacked by kobolds made this all that much cleared. Once the group arrived in the small town of Averton they were approached by Janos Dorivas who was on the same ship and impressed by their combat skills. Janos Dorivas was thankful for their aid and offered them to pay for a stay at a local inn for the night which they accepted.   Dorivas did not understand why the kobolds from that village would attack since they were known to trade with human villages in exchange for food. He also told them that the army and the Vanguard were too far to the west to be of any help. Janos Dorivas offered the group the group payment if they would look further into it. After some thought he told them that perhaps they could ask the Mofae Elves from Wildhorn or the Dwarfs from Ironpeak to help them with the Kobold camp. The group decided they would think about their course of action in the morning.
10th of Irami’el 1245 AE
The adventurers decided that Wood-Elf town of Wildhorn would be their first stop since it was the closest. They were joined by Luanda Keenkeeper, an Archonic cleric who recently arrived in the region and wanted to help out keeping the area save as was commonly done by members of her religion. In the early morning the group left westwards deep into Vamena Forest. After passing the farms surrounding Averton they saw the forest grow more dense as the redwood trees became larger.  The journey was uneventful until they reached a split in the road. From afar they could here a cry for help and the sound of wolves.   As they came closer they could see a Mofae Elf standing atop a large rock with a wolf trying to reach him. After the initial surprise the wolves directed their attacks to the adventurers. During the fight with the wolves a worg appeared who seemed the leader of the pack. The adventurers managed to slay the creatures without too much problems. Alas due lack of fortune Dimble managed to hit the Elf on the rock in the leg with his crossbow making him rather suspicious of his saviors. The Elf, Morthim Yelvras, was dressed in priest robes that were quite ravaged by his recent ordeal. He told the group that he ran away with his horse from a nearby temple in the hope of reaching Wildhorn. After he was fully healed he asked the group to bring him to Wildhorn since he had to tell them that the temple of Silvanus was invaded by barbarians. The adventures decided to bring the priest there and see what they could do.

Wildhorn

As soon as they arrived the adventurers were brought before the elder of the village. When the elder heard what the priest had to say he wanted to get into action as fast as possible and got word out to assemble all hunters out in the forest. He thanked the adventurers for bringing the priest to him and asked them what brought them to Wildhorn. Alas the elder couldn’t give them a reason for why the Kobolds suddenly turned aggressive. They had even traded with them up to a few months ago.   The temple that was invaded by barbarians was his first concern and he asked if the adventurers would be willing to help. In return Wildhorn would aid them with troops if they would march to the Kobold camp. The party agreed and decided to wait until nightfall for the attack on the temple to allow a couple of the hunters to return at least.
