Hogoku is the Japanese word for "sanctuary" (保護区 another translation is "nature preserve." Nino comes from "(number) two" (二) and the possessive/descriptor particle (の). Thus, Nino Hogoku means "a second sanctuary" or "another sanctuary." This is pun is stolen from the Ni no Kuni video games. See also the original Hogoku.
