Esoti is a recently developed medication developed to manage the symptoms of Danyodi. It is primarily available in Antarand.

The search for a medication to assist Danyodi patients has continued for centuries in Antaran, though the modern medical techniques pioneered by Antarand's major universities has only begun since the turn of the century, accelerated by the help of the Antaran Xurugwi community, and the frequent donations of their bodies for scientific study after death. The research was stalled during the outbreak of The Southern Fever, but a breakthrough came in the 1940s when study of a common algae in the Forgecard River was found to have promising properties.

When Esoti reached human trials, the scientists had little difficulty locating patients who were willing to take part in the study, due to the prevalence of the condition in Antarand. Esoti became available for widespread use in Antarand in 1953, though few other countries have picked it up for usage.

Effectiveness

Thus far, Esoti has been found to be successful in helping Danyodi patients manage symptoms in 78% of cases. Type I patients generally find that their symptoms are completely eliminated, with only a few complaining of some occurrence of headaches. While most Type II, III, and IV patients cannot expect to eliminate their seizures entirely, seizures are reduced to a very infrequent state, usually occurring only once every couple of years. This also means that their aphasic states are greatly reduced as well. Type V patients usually find their seizures reduced to moderate frequency, with several seizures occurring in a single year. As Type V patients are often known to experience daily seizures, usually followed by aphasic spells, this has also greatly increased the ability of Type V patients to communicate in a regular manner. Studies continue to find a more effective drug for Type V patients, though thus far, Esoti has had overwhelming support from those who suffer from the condition. Further studies on Esoti also continue, as there is not yet evidence that the drug has any effect on the immunosuppressing effects of Danyodi. Therefore, Danyodi patients and others in Antarand are encouraged to continue to vigilant about personal hygiene and other safeguards against passing contagious diseases.

Connection to Unity Bathhouse

Stories of the healing waters of the Unity Bathhouse have persisted in Antarand for centuries, alongside the legend of Antarand's first government. Many people consider the water at the base of the falls to be purifying, and even magically enhancing, especially when it comes to language. Though the scientific community has generally scoffed at this idea, the discovery of an algae in the water that led to the production of Esoti indicates there may be some truth to the tales.

Due to the prevalence of Danyodi in Antarand, the development of Esoti was considered a humanitarian project, and thus the price has been kept as low as possible to make it readily available for anyone who needs it.
