The Vengeance Coven
The Vengeance Coven was a trio of hags who each had plans foiled by the Venture Boys at one point or another. They came together to combine their powers and get revenge against the mortals that had wronged them, forming an alliance with Captain Elgar in the process. Unfortunately for the witches, even united they proved unable to defeat the Venture Boys. Nightwhisper was sent back to the Feywild when killed on the Material Plane while Broils Coonin returned to Hades after suffering the same fate. Only Mathilda managed to flee the conflict, escaping to parts unknown.

Mathilda
Mathilda was the first hag encountered by the Venture Boys, though they didn't know it at the time. She had disguised herself as a kuo-toa, infiltrating their community and sowing seeds of discontent to trigger a civil war. Her plans were interrupted when the magic engine from the original Venture crash-landed on the island and some of the kuo-toa began worshipping it. While trying to figure out how to revise her scheme, the Venture Boys appeared while investigating why some of the kuo-toa had attacked the other community on the island. Mathilda was the first non-hostile "kuo-toa" the group met after they entered the village caves. Most were too disgusted by the smell of rot in her den to stick around and left after a short conversation. Bakris Tarak stuck around and Mathilda offered him a deal; a pouch of powder that could knock out the hostile kuo-toa if he put it in the community stewpot in exchange for owing her an unspecified favor. Thankfully for Bakris, he did not use the powder and Mathilda left the village shortly after the party brought peace back to the kuo-toa]kuo-toa community. She was later contacted by Nightwhisper griping about how someone had attacked her home and ruined her plans. Recognizing the Venture Boys from Nightwhisper's description, Mathilda suggested they get help from Broils Coonin to resolve the situation. After Broils' first attempt to attack the adventurers failed, the trio allied themselves into a coven and joined with Captain Elgar during the Argus Pirates' assault against the kuo-toa. Mathilda's knowledge of Gibbidubbus' existence and the kuo-toa village's layout proved immensely helpful to Captain Elgar in planning the attack. The hags attacked the Venture Boys in a forest during the battle, ultimately failing with Mathilda being forced to flee when her sisters were slain.Nightwhisper
When the Venture Boys investigated a murder in a port town, the trail led them to the hag Nightwhisper. She had been abducting children from the local orphanage to devour them, replacing the missing kids with her doppelganger minions. Jumping through a portal into a darker part of the Feywild that bordered the Shadowfell, the party attacked the monsters at Nightwhispers home before the hag herself heard the commotion and joined the fray. She grabbed the adventurers Charles "Chuck" Ling and Ürek Thëch Ösen, dragging them under the ground and into a cavern while her monsters fought the others. Nightwhisper managed to kill Ürek, crushing his mangled body before the injuries Chuck gave her forced the hag to flee as her minions were slaughtered. She lamented her situation to Mathilda and the pair were attacked by Chuck, who had remained in the Feywild to pursue Nightwhisper and avenge Ürek. Unfortunately for the adventurer, the pair of hags were more than he could handle. This gave the hags the idea that strength in numbers was a potential way to defeat those meddling adventurers, but not before trying a little trickery. They contacted another hag, Broils Coonin, who attempted to kill the party from the Ethereal Plane unsuccessfully. But Broils had managed to make contact with the Argus Pirates and the hags formed an alliance with them against their mutual enemies. When the Vengeance Coven later attacked the Venture Boys, Nightwhisper was the first to strike. The adventurers tried to take her down first, only for her to regain a burst of strength when Mathilda polymorphed her into a giant crocodile. A well-placed strike against Mathilda broke the magic and returned Nightwhisper to her true form, allowing Vinnie Vice to shoot a firebolt that destroyed the hag's head. Nightwhisper's spirit was whisked back to the Feywild]Feywild, cursing those that killed her as it began the long, slow process of reforming into a physical form.Broils Coonin
The third and final hag met by the Venture Boys, Broils Coonin learned of the party when Nightwhisper contacted her asking for help. She began to stalk the party from the Ethereal Plane, spying before striking out against them. During this time she met Arachnor, also spying from the Ethereal Plane, and the two quickly realized they had a common enemy. They formed a loose alliance with Broils still believing she could deal with the problem herself. That belief proved unfounded when Althea Filanes used a magical sword that could damage creatures in the Ethereal Plane to nearly kill Broils in a single strike, forcing the night hag to flee. Returning & having failed, she advised her fellow hags they would be wise to accept Arachnor's offer of an alliance. The trio formed an official coven and assisted Captain Elgar with planning his assault against the kuo-toa village, intending to kill the creatures supplying Gibbidubbus with his godly powers. During the battle, the Vengeance Coven ambushed the Venture Boys as they cut through a forest. Broils was the second hag to reveal herself, supporting her sisters with powerful lightning magic. It was not enough to save her and she was the first killed in the conflict, her body destroyed by the toxic alcohol sprayed forth by a construct made of booze bottles summoned by Vinnie Vice. Her soul was pulled back to Hades on the Lower Planes, much to her grumbling displeasure as she began the long wait for her physical body to reform.
