Lakeview

Lakeview is the largest settlement in the Jezero region of Nexus, a loose collection of cities, towns, and other dwellings that sparsely decorate the vast region. It sits upon the shore of a massive lake that is larger than some seas, as well as the city's namesake. The trade city is unofficially ruled by three merchant lords and holds Waukeen, the Merchant's Friend, as its patron deity.
Lakeview was not the nicest of places when the Quintus Gems resurfaced in modern times, having been influenced by backroom deals and other shady business practices for many years. This seed of corruption was germinated by the devil Dunames, who posed as a celestial who had come to save the city from itself. In truth, her "improvement" gradually stained the citizens souls with sin in the name of safety and public order. Once they were sufficiently corrupted, Dunames used the power of the Red Quintus Gem to open a portal to the Nine Hells that allowed her fellow devils to march into the city and begin slaughtering mortals to collect their damned souls. Fortunately, this plan was stopped by a group of heroes know as the Barrel Boys and the city has been slowly recovering ever since they saved it.
