Cedra

Cedra was a marilith and servant of the demon lord Graz'zt. When the demon lord noticed Dunames presence on Nexus, he sent Cedra to investigate. She did so by abducting Dunames' cambion son, who was fleeing from his defeat by the Barrel Boys, and torturing the young man for information before killing him. Having learned of the Quintus Gems, Cedra came to the same conclusion as Dunames that the gems could tip the balance of power in the Blood War. But she was determined to make sure that power supported her side rather than their enemies.
Taking Xalkin to act as her lieutenant, the pair left for Nexus and began working with the local Cult of Graz'zt to gather information in the country of Jezero. Once her servants recovered a shard of the shattered Purple Quintus Gem, Cedra approached a tribe of orcs and offered the shard to their leader, Thogmau Goresteel, in exchange for an alliance. Cedra had learned that the leader of the local elven city possessed a Quintus Gem and knew the the orcs and elves were ancient enemies. She showed Goresteel how to use the shard's necromantic powers to cause his fallen soldiers to rise again and promised reinforcements to make his victory all the swifter. All she asked in exchange was first rights to plunder the elves treasure and that his army do what they could to prolong the elves suffering.
When the orc army began its march into the elven woods, Cedra and Xalkin constructed a portal to the Abyss. They were interrupted by the Barrel Boys, who fled with a teleportation spell after seeing that Cedra was there. Shortly afterwards, Cedra learned Dunames was on her way to the battlefield and ordered Xalkin to finish opening the portal and guard it while she dealt with the erinyes. The two fought to a draw and realized, too late, that their focus on each other robbed them both of their chance to acquire any Quintus Gems.
Cedra did not resurface until the final battle in Jezero's capital, marching an army of demons into the city as Dunames opened her own portal to the Nine Hells to bring in an army of devils. She met the Barrel Boys in battle but was unaware of the demi-god power they had been granted by a noble marid, vastly underestimating their strength. Cedra was defeated without much difficulty and sent back to the Abyss without having secured a single Quintus Gem, where Graz'zt demoted her to carrying out lowly, demeaning tasks for the next several centuries as punishment for her total failure.

In the Abyss
