Welcome to Haven City Arc
This story began in Haven City, a powerful city-state on Nexus' central continent where the Thaig brothers sought recruits for an expedition into the Underdark in search of their family's ancient lost holdings. Of the many applicants, five in particular stood out: Elycia Mirais, Jake F. Statefarm, "K" the Bugbear, Leh'ct, and Vinnie Vice. These individuals were interviewed by Bertrand Thaig before being approached by his brother Ernest, who revealed an awkward truth. Their expedition was short on funds and what they needed were not hirees; they needed partners. Though somewhat apprehensive at this suspicious offer, the adventurers agreed to attempt to gather the funds with each of them needing to go to the Underdark for reasons their own. And so their quests began, fighting for gold and glory (though mostly gold) in the short time they had before the expedition's scheduled departure. They made both friends and enemies during these adventures, and their success came with a measure of loss. The adventurers made enemies of the archmage Pompolius the Powerful and battled the wraith of Captain Xavier, who managed to slay Vinnie Vice before his defeat. But none of these enemies were more dangerous than the Crows, the crime syndicate that controlled much of Haven City. While alone one evening, Leh'ct was captured and brought before their leader, Marchioness Eve. Seeing her as untrustworthy and a serious threat, Leh'ct refused to comply with the Marchioness' demands and fled into the night after setting fire to her mansion. The Crows came out in full force in search of the adventurers, with Marchioness Eve herself nearly catching them as the adventurers fled to the Thaig brothers warehouse. Though they were able to escape the city with the help of their wizard acquaintance Villamax, they were forced to leave most of their supplies behind as they fled to the Underdark.Journey Into the Underdark Arc
