How Do You Gain Downtime?

  We do not have a set timeline or calendar in the New World. As such, we've had to devise a different way for your characters to earn downtime. Downtime is earned in the following ways:  

• You get 1 downtime day for every real day your character has existed on the server
  • Hint: You can see the date you made your character in #character-creation-bot-spam
  • Google "how long ago since date" and you've found out at least how many downtime days you possess!
• You get 2 downtime days for every real day your character is participating in a DM-led event
• You get 5 downtime days for each solo session you complete

 

What Can I Do With Downtime?

  You can use downtime for a whole heck of a lotta things. You can use it to gain proficiencies in tools/skills/weapons, learn new languages, find and collect spells, or pretty much anything else listed in the rules found in Xanathar's.   DM's may require you to spend downtime and gold to identify magic items you discover.   You can also see our detailed Homebrew Downtime Options.
