Session 47 - The Day Before

General Summary

After taking a brief rest in Skad, the party was alerted to the presence of Liberty Knights. Felk ushered them up a tree, and while Sasha and Finn were able to reach the top, Hamilton was only able to climb it partially.
Out of the brush, Lieutenant Vask and three Knights emerged. Felk spoke only Murkish to them, so Vask ignored him. He revealed he knew the party had come through the settlement thanks to Finn's peg leg, and if they didn't come out, they would tear Skad apart. They also revealed they had captured Peanut and would kill him, too.
Sasha and Finn ambushed the Knights, injuring two of them. A bloody battle ensued, in which Felk and Sasha were badly wounded. However, thanks to Hamilton's hidden perch in the tree, he was able to vanquish Vask before he could hurt Sasha anymore.
All of the Knights died except one, who surrendered. The party learned his name was Sherman, and he agreed to help so long as he was allowed to live. The party devised a plan to have Sherman district the remaining two Knights with Peanut so they could be killed, then Sherman would be allowed to go free. Sherman agreed to this. Finn also asked Sherman some questions about the Castle. Sherman admitted he has no idea where Osho is, only that he was brought into the Castle and wasn't seen again. He told them the location of the Orchard and that a room in the basement is where the Murk slaves sleep. He also told them that High Captain Corvus' quarters are on the 2nd floor, and High-Chancellor Gavin's quarters are in the lesser tower of the castle.
The party then took Sherman to the two remaining Knights and Peanut, where Sherman acted his heart out and convinced his former comrades, Benny and Kyle, to follow him. They were quickly killed. Sherman was let free, and Peanut was brought back to Skad to be kept safe.
The party pressed on to the coffee orchard, where they overheard a man referred to as "Mr. Eisenhower" arguing with two Knights. With him was a Turner. It was clear that Mr. Eisenhower was part of VendTech, and they had an arrangement to take a portion of the coffee beans, but the Knights seemed to have no knowledge of this trade. Eventually, Mr. Eisenhower convinced them, but he suddenly got the feeling like someone was watching them. Sending the Turner to investigate, and despite a close call, it came up with nothing. Mr. Eisenhower departed after that.
The party then snuck into the orchard and up to the fountain, where they quietly poured the poison into the fountain, then returned to the brush without incident.
They headed back to Skad, where Felk explained that if VendTech was there to collect their portion, the Knights would be collecting the rest later that day. All the party needed to do now was wait for the beans to be made into coffee, thus poisoning many of the Knights within the walls.
Tomorrow morning, it was time.
