Ro-Kin's Place
As you enter the smell of stale piss and beer confronts you. The light outside cant penetrate the grimy windows and acrid smoke. A haggard maid cleans up blood and broken teeth. A man asleep at a table has his pockets rifled by a toothless dwarf. Laughter and cursing roars from a table of half orcs tearing into a steaming pile of chickens. A boy plays a lute disinterestedly in the corner for coin. The ceiling is high and the boards creak beneath your feet. Nobody regards you as you enter. Its that kind of place.
Purpose / Function
A tavern built as a tavern.
Alterations
Very little of importance has changed over the years. Chandeliers were moved to the wall to prevent accidents.
Architecture
The exterior walls are stone blocks rendered with limestone on the exterior. The interior is spotted about with wooden beams holding up the second story. The second story is built from wood. Interior walls are also built largely from wood.
History
The building was originally built by a retired dwarf adventurer named Grunkin. When Ro-Kin bought the struggling business he simply painted over the first four letters in the sign. Ro-Kin has served the community for almost a decade since.
When the Legarto began taking over West Shanks Ro-Kin's place was the last business to come under their control. When they did make their offer of "protection" known it was with considerably more politeness and at a very convenient rate.
Tourism
Ro-Kins place largely houses travelers and down and outs. Its a little off the main street and far enough from four copper square to be unknown among most of the visiting sailors. As such it is a favoured haunt of Hannonites seeking a quiet drink, a decent feed and maybe a dark corner.
