Uriconium

The Industrial centre of Bretorum

Uriconium is the industrial center of Bretorum, most of the iron, copper and tin are brought here for processing and then sold into other parts of the empire.
It was founded about a hundred years ago, back then this was the location of the military camp of the Legia Ursa.
The early construction was also mainly done by the legion, for decades it however remained relatively small.
Only in the last twenty years Uricnoum grew to the prominent industrial city it is nowadays.
The population itself also saw a huge increase, with many plebians, that were freed from slavery, coming to Uriconium in the search of Jobs and a new life.

Industry

The main industry is the processing of metals into tools, weapons and armour.
Most of the raw ressources they get from the Westurian mines in Westuria and they are also the main supplier for the three legions stationed in Bretonia.
The conflatio disctrict in the north of town was built twenty years ago and contains nearly all smelters of Uriconium, in recent years they also started constructing to portum novum
to increase the capacity of trade vessels and the transport route through the city.
This expansion of their metal industry also increased the demand of coal and wood, which the city started cuttting down on a large scale around the city.

City Goverment and Factions

The Goverment of the city is made up of the Queastor and its small council. The current Queastor is Castor Valerian while the small council, consists of the Legat of Legia Ursa, the Harbormaster
and a representative of the Conflatio Disctrict.
The Legion and the industrialists have most of the power as they also controll most of the cities wealth. Through steady improvment and the construction of new homes the goverment was able to appease most of
the cities populace even though the work in the city is really hard.
Outisde of the govermental palace the plebians mainly consider themselves as Bakhunists and even have a small headquater in the Murus disctrict.C

Conflatio Disctrict

North, outside the city walls is the relativly new conflatio district and heart of the cities industry.
Many trees are still being cut down as the district grows larger every year and more workers move here.
The newly developing coal industry causes alot of smoke that keeps most of the northern city covered in a layer of rus.

Distric Centralis

Just infront of the Palacium lais the centralis district. Here life most of the middle class workers and shopkeepers. They life in well constructed domiunus that have a small courtyard.
There are some physicians, shops and schools spread around the district.

Sanguis District

Before Uriconium became the industrial centre it is today it was primarly known for its alchemists and brewers, they were known among specialists and were for a long time the main industry of the city.
The Alchemists would gather their herbs in the Forest of Domhain and brew poison, Healing potions and antidotes.
In the last few decades, profits plumited and most Alchemists left the city, making rooms for the new labourforce, which caused the district to change into a low income neighbourhood.
In recent years a small arena opened up in the district primarly to entertain the plebians.

Forum Uriconium

The Forum contains a temple to Aras and Alidia with a new big Temple for Thermon under construction.
There are also many market stalls selling most things for daily needs.
