Houdins Univesite of Magique

Purpose / Function

Originally a magic infused library made by the Nordelves, it was eventually made into a palace for the Lefrank royal family before finally ending up in the hands of Francios Houdin who turned it into a grand centre of magical learning in Lefrank.

Alterations

The original building has always been a library however over time the elven fountain was renovated and more human buildings and a campus build around the library until eventually a great hall with 2 wings was established serving as the new main hub for learning.

Architecture

Majority of the building uses a Lefrankian gothic architecture with one building and parts of it surroundings being made from elven marble in Nordelf style from thousands of years ago.

History

Originally an Elven library left abandoned by the Nordelf Empire it was found as Parsaile expanded and converted into a second palace for the royal family, eventually it was given to Francois Houdin and his family as compensation for the false persecution of his family for their great magical ability. Francois discovered a strong magic allowing immense focus in the library which was he final push in his desire to turn the building into a sanctuary for all those hoping to learn the magical arts.    Eventually with the death of the final member of the Houdin family the University Estate was willed to recently formed Mages Guild of Lefrank to help educate generations of upcoming magic users.   In Jaenur 4963 AGD with the advent of The Wizards War the University saw an uprising of students and faculty sympathetic to the The Crimson Party that was only quelled with the help of the kingdoms authorities and members of the Sons of Getorix. After this event the school did much to distance themselves from the rebellious mage sect and prove to people they were a peaceful school advocating knowledge and peace.
