Cuda Character in Nataal | World Anvil

Cuda

Cuda is a city dweller living close by the Core Dumps. He has a strange fascination with the anatomical workings of robotkind, and relies on fresh bodies from the Core Dump to perform his anatomical studies.

Role in the Plot

During the events of Journey of the Return, Cuda’s fascination turns dangerous when he kidnaps Ephraim to perform his first live experiment. After Jerrod finds his way out of the labyrinthian landfill, he's able to save Ephraim and convince Cuda of his error.   After Cuda returns with Jerrod and Ephraim to Kernelle, a new clan is formed with Cuda at the head. This clan takes over the responsibility to treat injured robots from the Talmer Clan.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Injuries that Cuda sustained while descending Mt. Gigabit landed him in the outskirts of society when he stumbled into Grand Cluster. He almost didn't survive his first year. Over years he was able to repair most of the damage done to his body from spare parts found in the Core Dumps, but he'll still never be truly the same. It's a permanent reminder of the pain he had to endure not long after his birth into the world.   Cuda is motivated with a vision for the future where all robots can have access to his medical treatments. His desire to make the world he envisions drives him to make some questionable moral decisions in the name of what he believes is "the Greater Good."

Savvies & Ineptitudes

With a mind for mechanical and electrical engineering, Cuda is one of the few robots with any degree of prowess in healing the sick or injured.

Personality Quirks

He has a few wiring flaws give him a periodic twitch and stutter.
