Shrine of Eldath’s Blessing

Deep beneath the dried-up Syva pit lies the ancient Shrine of Eldath’s Blessing, constructed centuries ago by the triton cleric Paimen Sankara of the legendary Ostai. The shrine is located in a stunning, crystalline-walled grotto over 200 feet below the surface. Luminescent minerals in the cavern walls bathe the subterranean space in soft blue and green hues. A serene underground stream flows through the grotto, the last remnant of what was once an expansive aquatic cave system.   The shrine itself centers around a circular stone platform ringed by elaborate triton iconography and motifs. Beautiful azure mosaics depicting tranquil waterscapes adorn the floor and walls of the shrine. In the middle of the platform stands a tall white marble statue of the goddess Eldath, arms uplifted. The symbol of Eldath's waterfall plunging into a still pool is carved prominently above the statue.   Along the eastern wall of the shrine is a stone pedestal with a small, round slot built into its surface. The pedestal has no markings to indicate what might fit into this space.   When Syva pit still brimmed with water centuries ago, Paimen claimed this grotto as a sanctuary to worship Eldath, goddess of serenity, comfort and healing. Her blessings empowered him to heal the wounded and protect Naomh from those who sought to destroy it. Though the pit is now bone-dry, lingering traces of Eldath's caress are said to still resonate through the crystal waters of the cavern, awaiting those in need of her aid.
