I don't care how many so-called inventors spring out from the filth. They are a plague upon Vallea and will be cured like all others that came before them.
The School of Invention are an underground group of Valleans who have seen the beauty and art in crafting with magic and have taught themselves wizards knowledge to apply to their crafts.
They are hunted across
Vallea but stubbornly take on students and remain in place in the hope they can overturn preconceptions about wizards and their spells. Notably, this has drawn worldwide notice after it was discovered that one of
Queen Faith Vallea's own daughters had been taught and trained by an inventor... becoming one of their number. The fact that the queen subsequently banished her own daughter to the land of Grim Hallow is a sign of her ruthless commitment to the people of Vallea.
The School of Invention are, first and foremost, artisans and artists in Vallea and so do not have a strict code or uniform. Instead they are either trained or self taught and identify each other by an acknowledgement of craftsmanship or shared teachers. With many belonging to the School of Invention going abroad to teach or learn their craft before returning to Vallea, seeing it as their purpose to chain conceptions of wizards in their own home.
