  • Artur Coric reflects on his reasoning for the constant push on advertising the Bloomwilt Mine-Off
The Mine-Off is a yearly event that takes place on the 3rd of Lightfest in the town of Bloomwilt. The event involves each mining company within the town sending forth their 'champion' miner to take part in an hour long competition to determine who can delve deepest into the mines and recover the most ore and jewels in that hour, the winner receives the entirety of the materials they recover during the event and the company receive first call on mining hours for the remainder of the year.  It is a surprisingly popular event and is attended by the townspeople of Bloomwilt who treat it like the most important day in the year for the town and will establish a non working day that instead grips the town with a festival fever. A rare day of fun in an otherwise orderly town that fears the dark.

History

The festival was established after one of the Bloomwilt's mayors, Artur Coric mined an incredible amount of ore in an hour as part of a friendly bet amongst colleagues. The already popular miner drew acclaim from the town and took it in his usual boisterous and jovial way however the precedent was set and, what turned from a friendly bet amongst friends, became the standout event of the year.
