Mystics
At the beginning the only race that had achieved mastery over the power of psionics were the Mind-Flayers. Next was the race of the Githzerai who also learned the secrets of psionic power and used them to defeat their ancient masters. In the material plane, the only creatures who know psionics however are the mindflayers, and sometimes their experiments on humans have...unintended consequences. These creatures who have unlocked their own psionic potential through being used as test subjects for one of the most sadistic races in the world are called Mystics. Mystics are rare to the absolute extreme, and the organisations that involve them are shrouded in secrecy and shadows. This rareness and secrecy is the main weapon of the mystic, as they are all very strange individuals who if their powers were common knowledge would be shunned by the average folk. The field of Mystics and their abilities are not researched almost at all by the Empire. However, Archmage Analyehnen Sol has has requested significant resources from the Arcanic Order in order to research the powers of Mystics and their connection to the Astral Sea and the Wieve. Maybe through her research the Empire will learn more about the strange creatures.
