Artis, Empire God of Trade

Empire God Artis (a.k.a. Fortunegiver, Lord of Wealth, Luckgiver)

Fortunegiver, Lord of Wealth, Luckgiver. Artis is the God of Trade and wealth in the Empire. He is both the ruler of the oceans and the desert, the former earned by the Empire, the latter from his origins. The origins of Artis and his church are important in order to understand his relationship with the other Empire Gods, and his churches relationship with the Empire. Hailing from the desert lands of Ahridia, Artis and his faith are relative outsiders to the main Empire.

While the other four gods have always existed together and as allies, the induction of Artis into the Empire Pantheon was enforced, twice. The first is relatively unknown, during the Golden age of Magic, it is believed that Artis was persuaded into joining the rest of the Pantheon and uniting with the goal of progress and peace. After the schism and the Calamity however, Ahridia had become completely complete separate from the newly formed Empire , and the followers of Artis violently resisted any attempt to be inducted into it. The crusade against Ahridia has been stricken from most history books, and most people now accept that it was introduced peaceful into the Empire, or at least keep their mouths shut if they know better.
