Feywild Geographic Location in Na'Endreth | World Anvil

Feywild

The Feywilds directly proceed Mt. Celestia in the Planar stack. Resting above the material plane, the plane represents a more pure magical reflection of our own world. In short the plane reflects a parallel version of our own more directly exposed to magic, untouched by the corruption of the Empty, or by the hands of civilization. That is with the exception of Elves. The Feywild looks the way it does because of its placement. Directly underneath Mt. Celestia, The Feywilds are exposed to direct holy light. This has allowed for life to grow and diversify at a factor of ten times that of the Material Plane. Where structures stand on Na'Endreth they Feywild will be host to dense woodlands protected by mystical beings.

Geography

The landscape of the Feywild mirrors the natural world but turns its features into spectacular forms. Where a volcano stands on the Material Plane, a mountain topped with skyscraper-sized crystals that glow with internal fire towers in the Feywild. A wide and muddy river on the Material Plane might be echoed as a clear and winding brook of great beauty. A marsh could be reflected as a vast black bog of sinister character. And moving to the Feywild from old ruins on the Material Plane might put a traveler at the door of an archfey’s castle.

Ecosystem

The Feywild has an extremely bountiful and diverse circle of life. Fey creatures are at the center of this alien ecosystem. Magic runs through the veins of everything here. The Feywild runs on the idea of contracts. Almost all life here operates on the idea that deals can be made to increase and pass down power. At the very top of this resides the The Fey Gods themselves.

Localized Phenomena

Magic functions much like energy on this plane. By word of mouth or death magic is transferred from host to host accumulating power amongst the Fey. Time and memory don't work the same here either. Many times travelers will experience lost time, and have no memory of their time in the Feywild at all.
