1-Avernus
The first and largest fragment of hell, Avernus is a plane wrote with eternal war between three major factions, Devils, Demons, Angels, and all the splinter groups in-between. The realm is wrote with barren plains, blood red skies, jagged peaks, and metal fortress. Avernus is the fragment of Lust. Souls are droped hear for sins of the flesh, souls here are tortured for their sins to the point they eventually succumb to fiend-hood or burn out. Avernus is the only Fragment of Hell with known rifts to the Material Plane, Under the orders of Hamartia. This severs a multi-purpose means of controlling who comes in and out of Hell.
Geography
Mountains made of vile flesh line the shores of this plane, and lakes of blood fill valleys of bones. A Massive lake of negative energy resides at the heart of Avernus. This lake is the birthplace of the River Styx, and the most direct route to the other planes. Floating spires of rock float above the plane, and volcanic rock sends noxious fumes into the atmosphere.
Ecosystem
Vegetation is sparse in Avernus. Almost everything natural to Avernus was brought there from wicked intent. Occasionally terraformed regions are created to allow more hospitable living for invading soldiers.
Localized Phenomena
Avernus' landscape seams to call upon the Sin of Lust. Ambition and sexual energy are amplified in these parts. Even the geography seams to exude lust, as evidenced by terrain itself taking on properties of organic life. You cannot die in Avernus. Should you succumb to normally fatal damage you will be absorbed into the landscape in a half life, until you become a fiend yourself.
