The great city of Liwic. Although it has a violent history, it is more commonly known for the master artisans who produce their goods there. Since a few years, the glass-smiths of Liwic have become especially famous.
The city is ruled by a the gracious
Duke Heinrich III who came into power after the
Massacre of the Wolf that took place in the city half a year ago.
Since then, the city has fallen into ruin. With that, political tension between
Forlon and Liwic is slowly building as
Duke Heinrich III has started sending small raiding parties into the
Forlon Forelands.
What will become of the once magnificent city is unknown.
Current Ongoings
Most inhabitants of Liwic are humans. Some elven communities can be found in the inner city as well as a dwarf or two in the Artisan Ward.
Compared to cities like
Iriad, the rich live side by side with the middle class here, although since taxation has risen over the last 6 months, the rich cannot be called that anymore.
The most common profession in Liwic is that of an artisan of some kind.
While still being loyal to the crown, Liwic is, similar to
Forlon a very independent city, which is ran by
Duke Heinrich III.
The city is surrounded by a high city wall with a second tier of walls inside the city, surrounding the palace.
Since Liwic's biggest export is masterly crafter tools and clothing, they rely very much on trade with
Forlon and
Thordale as well as any merchants coming through.
- In most recent history, the people of Liwic saw themselves confronted with a Lizardmen-Thread from the north. Their army fought valiantly and even though they suffered great losses, they managed to drive the lizards back to where they came from.
- A few months ago, the Massacre of the Wolf took place which gave Cult of Gaddus an opportunity to rile up the masses against the previous Duke.
- After taking controll of the city, Duke Heinrich III is now hosting The Roayal Tournament Trails while governing with an iron fist.
The city is build next to a large river which flows to the east to merge into one of the streams flowing through the
Central Valethi Planes.
