Black Feather Swamps
Description
The Black Feather Swamps is a large swamp-area to the east of the Rampart Hills. The only town in this area is Barrow Bridge. The inhabitants of this small town manage to endure the harsh life they are leading but over the recent years, Barrow Bridge has become an important stop for travelling merchants. The swamp itself is a dark and dangerous place. It is not uncommon to stumble across the corpses of travellers who got sucked down into the wet depth. And not all of them have found their final rest. Drowners, that's what the people living in this area call them, are a constant threat while traversing the swampy terrain.

Geography
Due to the proximity to the Rampart Hills, it is a very hilly area that extends a little bit into the Redwood.
It takes a skilled ranger or somebody who knows the area very well to stay save while traveling through the swamp. Every step could lead to you getting sucked into the murky waters. Or worse.
Fauna & Flora
Dead, rotting trees dot the area. Not much in the way of regular plant life grows here. Aquatic plants or heavily adapted ferns grow all over the place.
Some animals can be found here but the vast majority of life here is horrifying and dangerous. Everything from giant spiders stalking through the waters, over alligators lying in wait, to the reanimated corpses of long dead travellers can be encountered here.
Also be wary of dancing lights in the fog. Nothing good comes from following them.
