Legends say that Gaia formed out of Chaos, and that her body comprises all the lands and all the waters of the mortal world.
In ancient times, Gaia lay with Ouranos, the sky, and gave birth to the twelve first-generation Titans: Kronus, Rhea, Oceanus, Tethys, Hyperion, Theia, Koius, Phoibe, Krius, Mnemosyne, Themis, and Iapetus.
