The Temple of Blood. A bleak name for a temple with an even bleaker history. Most dragonborn believe this to be the location of the bloodiest battle ever to take place upon their soil, the truth is far worse and only known by few people. These hallowed grounds are never trespassed upon and so few have viewed the stories written on the walls. The tales of sorrow and loss, of death and the salvation of the dragonborn.
The Secret of the Slipscale curse and how to cure it is written upon these walls. A secret someone wanted to forget.
Purpose / Function
Dedicated to an ancient and long passed God, this temple is beyond age and has been on Myrth since before even the dragons memory can touch. The God and any of it's teachings have been lost to time and replaced with much more relevant things.
This temple is one of the Sinal Mirre, the ancient buildings that keep the secrets preserved that otherwise would be lost to time. But in more recent years those precious secrets have been replaced with things the Dragonborn deem more important.
Alterations
The majority of the Cathedral's interior has been carved out and stripped bare leaving only a few pillars in place to preserve it's structural integrity. There is a huge stone dias in the center of the building rising up about five feet over what appears to be a trench carved into the stone floor.
The roof too has been torn away leaving the inside of the building open to the elements.
All of these additions are crude in comparison to the original stonework and are made of a completely different type of stone, this a dull grey.
Architecture
This unique building is made out of a strange white stone and the architecture itself is very strange. The building is massive, the single room could very easily fit a large city within it's walls.
History
When Slipscale was first discovered and the dragonborn thought there was no hope the Red Queen desecrated these sacred halls by sacrificing an ancient dragon to concoct a cure for the devastating disease. That dragons blood stained the white tiles and tainted what was once a holy place.
