Comte De Bourdain

A father to three children and married to the Aunt of the current King the Comte was a former favourite within King Louis' court before a falling out some years ago, the details of which remain unknown, some in Paris consider him dangerous most consider him harmless if a little cookey. A patron of the arts and science, the Comte has become something of a recluse since leaving Paris, keeping to his house and extensive estates in the South of France with his butler Rui. Among the higher echelons of society, he is rumoured to perform strange rituals in the house and to cavort with the devil on a nightly basis. Of course, the Inquisition have never been able to find any evidence and the Comte's position keeps him in relatively good standing. During a sojourn near Merlin's Dolmen he encountered two Musketeers named Léonie and Jean. Confirming that Jean's uncle was Robert De Loungville a friend from back in Paris he confirms for them that the Spaniards are up to something at Fort Cholet as he has heard the sounds of strange wolves and other creatures nearby. The group parts ways but are reunited when on a walk on the edge of the Darkrot Forest the Comte finds Jean riding with a seemingly deceased Leonie. seeing the two musketeers in peril he rushed them back to his mansion where he proceeded to reverse the effects of the spider bite on Leonie. The following day over breakfast the Comte offers the pair flasks with healing elixirs within as well as a good meal in exchange for them delivering a letter to Rene de Dunois in Paris. Knowledgeable on the subject of history he tells them of the Night Witch of Cholet a former druid that was cast out when the Romans invaded and that she is possibly responsible for the beasts in the area and that destroying her will likely dispel any magics she has used to create the beasts. To help he provides them with blades made of Cold Forged Steel known to be more deadly to demons and beasts.
