Personal history

Beldris came from the lap of luxury or at least its shadow, Beldris' mother was a lady of the Copera courts that had ambitions to be Queen in the feudal era before Moudon became what it is today. Beldris' mother eventually struck a deal. Her ascension in the royal ranks in exchange for a 'small favour' was taken immediately. As it turned out that small favour turned out to be giving birth to Beldris. It was intended by the devil that made the deal, to have Beldris become the perfect vessel to control the royal court and collect souls for him. In a true cosmic joke for both parties, Beldris' mother died in childbirth after being queen for only one month and then Beldris was exiled into the wilds. Beldris was left for dead but was luckily found by a young couple that had no children and clout in Omarop as members of the Krenshiw family.   Beldris was raised as an heir apparent and a trophy of sorts. A visual message of the power and lengths the Krenshiw family would go through to command greater leadership and wealth. Beldris learned to be both admired and revered but also over time as cruel as their father, a villain in his own right. Then Lady Krenshiw died and the Lord took on a new wife who was able to bear him a son. Then Beldris was just a trophy. Jilted and full of hate, Beldris continued to grow in the shadows, the reciever of their 'father's' anger and sadism. By the time Beldris was old enough to make it on their own, they had developed a sadistic streak a mile wide and a twisted understanding of the world.   Building an empire of their own, Beldris was truly happy manipulating and destroying the lives of rich and poor alike. There was joy in watching someone's tears as they lost everything, satisfaction is collecting a soul though contract. Something learned by Beldris from the one visit they got from their family devil at the age of 18. Over the years, Beldris traded souls to extend life and health. With enough time it is easy to reinvent oneself and become a powerhouse in Omarop.   Recently though, control, power and wealth has not provided the sense of accomplishment and fulfilment that it once did. Beldris has been feeling the need for something more.

Gender Identity

Preferring the pronouns of they and them, Beldris has never felt an identification with any end of a binary. Gender seemed to only be a role to don and doff as the situation required, or to leave out entirely.

Sexuality

Largely ambiguous, but a growing desire for something romantic.

Education

Over the years, Beldris, though self taught has learned numerous languages, has extensive historical knowledge, and has recently dabbled in the world of biologics.

Employment

Beldris has only ever been an aristocrat or a mobster after a fashion.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Being the head of the top casino and gang in Omarop.   Lesser known is Beldris' hand in destroying House Krenshiw.

Failures & Embarrassments

Having to live through Lord Krenshiw's sadism in their younger years has always been something that Beldris is not proud of. It makes Beldris particularly cruel with High Roller patrons of aristocratic backgrounds.

Mental Trauma

Suffering at the hands that were supposed to protect has made Beldris greatly untrusting and monstrous. This has presented blocks that have kept Beldris from trusting even those they work with. Though being alone was once embraced like a blanket, it now keeps Beldris from being able to fill the emotional void of having people to care for and be cared for in return. Beldris is far too damaged to ask for help.

Intellectual Characteristics

Calculating and observant, Beldris will watch and plan before making a move. Well read but able to read a person, Beldris adapts how they approach and speak to people depending on how they present.

Morality & Philosophy

The rules of the casino apply to all who enter and that includes Beldris, so Beldris is quickest to exact order within the space. Beldris feels that without some degree of order, contracts can bear no weight.

Beldris knows infernal, abyssal, common, Morora (indigenous language of the Basara that originally settled in Omarop), elvish, dwarvish, celestial, and deep speech. Fluent in all of them but also knows some conversational Jabailor (an unofficial language from Moudon perspective spoken by the Lizardfolk and Yuan-ti of Jabai Island.
