Encounter with Hopewell

After more than a year of plundering, the Lady Madeleine was finally made to face the music. The ship's lookout somehow mistook the Fharyne Defense Fleet ship Hopewell as a merchant vessel, and so did not call out the order to flee. The Hopewell, captained by the young and vengeful Jeremy Wilson leaped upon the opportunity to reclaim the Madeleine. The engagement was messy, with tensions running high on both sides. The Hopewell had the Lady Madeleine outgunned, and managed to inflict some crippling damage to the hull and masts. However, an untimely storm threw the ships apart, and the quick thinking of first mate Nathanael St.Beth guided the decimated Lady Madeleine to safety. Most of the pirates, including Captain Bonningham, perished in the battle, and Nathan was left to rebuild the ship and the crew.
