Jeremy Wilson
Officer Review: Capt. Jeremy Wilson, The Hopewell
Performance: Wilson has demonstrated exceptional zeal in his efforts to quell the piracy problem around the Kingdom. Last month alone he brought in twenty-four men from various vessels, and recovered a barquentine for use by the Royal Navy. One cannot argue with the evidence: Captain Wilson gets results.
Crew & Ship: Both seem to be in working order. Many crewmembers when asked about Wilson expressed a particular devotion and loyalty to him personally. His first mate was a notable exception- this could be worth further investigation, as any unrest could lead to a loss of efficiency in one of our premier vessels. The Hopewell itself is still in good condition, though it could use some replacement sails and there are a few damages to the hull. Wilson certainly respects his ship, but he isn't gentle with it.
Additional Notes: Wilson seems to be a bit of a puzzle. One of the youngest captains in our fleet, but also one of our most successful. He nearly failed his training, but he now commands exceptional loyalty from his crew. Especially after the incident with The Lady Madeleine a few years ago, no one expected him to return to active duty, let alone as a Captain of his own vessel. He seems little affected by his injuries, yet I would recommend he come in for examinations more frequently. Overall, however, I see no reason to relieve him of command, only perhaps that he should be held on a slightly shorter leash. Hopefully, Chief Officer Allen being his second-in-command will reign him in somewhat.

Facial Features
Strong jaw and chin, upturned nose. Pointed brows, several small scars along the left side of his face.

Very acute spacial awareness, can fight effectively even when entirely blind.
Apparel & Accessories
Often wears the Kingdom of Fharyn Defense Fleet uniform, with epaulets on both shoulders signifying rank. Tall boots, navy pants, black undershirt and cravat, light grey jacket. Usually bears a firearm, a rapier, and a concealed blade. Typically covers left eye with a patch.
Specialized Equipment
Proficient in almost all blades and firearms, particularly pistols. Specializes in naval tactics and diplomacy, though the former is utilized far more frequently.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Jeremy Wilson was essentially a nobody until he enlisted into the Fharyn Naval Training Program. He was born to a small farming family in Fharyn where he heard tales of peoples' livelihoods being ripped away by nefarious pirates. Once he came of age, he enlisted in the training program and soon joined the Kingdom of Fharyn Defense Fleet, a specialized branch under Navy jurisdiction that deals in all things piracy. He served for several years under Captain Grey Ukazu , until action against a pirate vessel cost him his captain, his ship, and his left eye. Since then Jeremy trained himself back to his previous level of proficiency in just about everything and re-enlisted. His record earned him the position of captain aboard a newly minted brig The Hopewell. Now, he acts as one of the most effective (but also least predictable) captains in the fleet.
Gender Identity
Male
Education
Graduated from the Fharyn Naval Training Program, which teaches combat, navigation, ship building/maintenance, medicine, tactics, and just about anything else that would be needed on a vessel. Jeremy particularly focused on studies in combat, tactics, and negotiation.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Graduated from Fharyn Naval Training Program, gained command of his own vessel, earned a reputation as an effective pirate hunter.
Failures & Embarrassments
Couldn't save his last captain or ship, hasn't brought in The Lady Madeleine or any of its crew.
Intellectual Characteristics
Incredibly sharp with an iron memory. Sees the nuance in situations, wishes it could be simpler. Prone to narrow focus.
Morality & Philosophy
Jeremy is strongly driven to do good, and believes he can accomplish this by eradicating the threat of pirates. He follows rules and orders for the most part, unless he can see a way in which they hinder him and his goal.
Taboos
Will never harm a child or someone he views as an innocent party- he'd sooner give up his own life.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Jeremy sees injustice in the world and wants to quell it. In his mind, pirates prey on the undefended and unfortunate, and he cannot let this stand.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Good at bringing people together for a cause, not great at casual socialization outside of duty.
Virtues & Personality perks
Dedicated, cares deeply.
Vices & Personality flaws
Bit of a hardass, slow to change his judgement, no patience whatsoever for mediocrity.
Personality Quirks
A bit jumpy, though it's hard to notice unless one knows him well. Always looks focused on something, sometimes to the point of appearing frustrated.
Social
Social Aptitude
Charisma isn't Jeremy's strongest trait, but he handles social situations pretty well. He tends to come off as cold and removed, though generally not intentionally. Stiff but well executed etiquette when called for.
Mannerisms
Jeremy often gestures with both hands out of habit, but tries to limit the movements of his left hand so as not to accidentally hit anything. Never seems to lean on anything for support, rarely sits when offered.
Speech
Everything Jeremy says sounds like a command. His voice is rough from several years of shouting over the wind, but it still retains some softness when he speaks normally. Speaks with the accent of a commoner.
