High Common

High Common is a language that sometimes seems to be held together by a finely gilded thread. It's filled with possibilities for double meanings, deception, misunderstanding, and elaborate wordiness; all of which makes it the perfect language for politics. It hardly changes as time goes on, but rather continues to uphold old standards and functions that hardly make sense in modern parlance. However, it is a mark of great status and honor to be fluent in this notoriously difficult language, and as such much of a young noble's education is dedicated to its mastery. It is a Common language, so it is used for international discussion and almost all levels of politics. It has been known to borrow certain words from Low Common, but they will almost always mutate into something much more elaborate and removed from their original meanings.
