Chronos
Chronos, the All-Seer, Metisat in Draconic, is the god of time, knowledge, and fate in the warm-blooded pantheon and the god of order and civilisation in the Draconic pantheon. He is associated with the orderly passage of time and the pre-determined fate of all mortals. His enemy is Tychra, who intervenes with his orderly plans for the future by granting mortals free will.
Creation
During creation, Chronos was tasked with deciding how time would flow. Seeing the chaos of early creation when time was still in its infancy, Chronos decided that the only feasible option was to have time be completely linear and unbending, with a pre-determined timeline of fate spanning to the end of time. He was also tasked with granting mortals knowledge of language and writing.Warm-blooded Pantheon
In the warm-blooded pantheon, Chronos is usually depicted as a humanoid figure wearing a bronze helm. Geometric lines usually sprout from his back, depicting his pre-determined path for the future that he bears on his shoulders. He is almost always depicted as male. Chronos' plans for an orderly timeline were disrupted by Tychra, who granted mortals free will. Mortals with free will constantly change Chronos' pre-determined timeline.Draconic Pantheon
In the Draconic pantheon, Metisat represents order and civilisation. He is depicted as a ruby dragon. In depictions that show his wings, their membranes usually contain depictions of gears, maps, and Draconic script, showing his divine order. Metisat also represents the cleverness of dragons. When Set unleashed his devilish armies to slaughter all the dragons of Morn, Metisat told Tiamat that Set was going to take all of the souls for himself. Enraged, Tiamat unleashed her demons to fight the devils. With the devils and demons weakened from fighting each other, the dragons were able to defeat them. Draconians strive to follow their place in Metisat's divine order. Metisat designed his divine order at the beginning of creation, deciding the perfect place in it for all people. If everybody followed their place in the divine order, there would be no chaos on Morn and the world would be perfect. However, due to the influence of mortals and the interloper gods, especially Naga, some people stray from their place and so the world is filled with chaos.Relationship with Solene
Chronos is thought to have a special relationship with Solene (Saule in Draconic) due to his connection with the concept of fate. Due to Solene' domain also including fate, the two gods are largely seen to work in concert. In the warm-blooded pantheon, Chronos is thought to be Solene' consort. Various cultures depict them as spouses while others show them as lovers. In the Draconic pantheon, Saule is depicted as a partner of Metisat, with both entities working to maintain the flow of fate. Saule and Metisat are often included in the same depiction, usually shown as equal reflections of each other.Relationship with Tychra
Chronos is thought to have an extremely bellicose relationship with Tychra. While the Creator Gods are all thought to be enemies of the Interloper Gods, Tychra is seen as Chronos' greatest nemesis. Tychra's granting of free will to mortals allows them to upset the threads of fate as seen by Chronos and woven by Solene. Tychra made it possible for mortals to act in a way that Chronos may not foresee, upsetting his ability to maintain the orderly flow of fate.
