Whisperwood
In the depths of Whisperwood, the air is thick with fog, and the haunting whispers of the forest's ancient past stir uneasily in the trees. The massive trees stretch to high heights, their gnarled limbs twisting like the very fingers of a monstrous beast. The forest is far from serene, as it is home to some of the most fearsome creatures in all of Mordia. Among them, the towering Wendigo-like monsters, lurking beasts of nightmares, and the massive spiders that creep in the shadows, are the most known and dreaded.
The atmosphere is suffocating with an eerie sense of being constantly watched, as though the forest itself is alive, its every breeze a quiet but omnipresent threat. When traveling through these woods, one must be armed with great courage and power, as even the slightest misstep could lead to an encounter with one of the monstrous beings that roam the land. The forest is a place of testing for those who dare to traverse it.
As travelers move closer to the city of Mordessius, the signs of a recent and brutal war become more apparent. The trees are scarred with deep gashes, burned husks stand in place of once proud oaks, and the land itself bears deep gouges, as though some tremendous battle had occurred between creatures of great power. It’s as though the forest is remembering the terrible conflict that scarred its soul.
