Technological advancements among the races have given us items of technology previously unimaginable. Space travel and magical inter-planar travel is not uncommon. War machines imbued with magical abilities are often used in combat. Every facet of life relies in some way on these technological and magical devices. Magic users in the five most populous races began to cooperate and reign in the use of magic in order to prevent catastrophes like The Planar Pirate Wars.   Magic useage is strictly regulated by the Controlled Use of Magic Council, otherwise known as the Cuom Council. The members of the council are representatives from the five oldest and largest magical corporations. The Elves control Vaardin Multinational. The Dwarves control Brixby Biological and Biomagical. The Humans control The Foundation for Human Enchantment. The Gnomes control Gvylendahl Group. And the Illenfōk control Illeneas Isles.   Chorenn’s greatest city, Meridian, on The Ethosien Sea, is home to the Cuom Council. Representatives from each of the five magical corporations meet there every year in order to discuss new business that needs to be addressed worldwide.   Various governing bodies control their respective countries in name only. The member corporations of the Cuom Council hold power and sway over the nations. The populace in large urban cities simply work and live under the rule of these corporations. In the Outlands, where magic flourishes unchecked and wild, many major and minor racial groups have come to control large territories and resources, albeit in opposition to the major corporations.
