The Argent Order - D&D 5E Notes

Much of the inspiration and details is derived from Colombia Games and the Hârn Religion Team (HRT) Archive.

This order is composed of mostly Monks, Clerics, Fighters and Paladins with multiclassing popular mainly with Monks.

As this organization that has a flexible structure, members from other classes are possible provided that they are suitability devoted to Larani and the cause.

Modifications to the Clerics of the Argent Order

Clerics can choose War or Protection as Domains and are trained to use all Swords and the Terzi language.

They gain the Tala Ma Martial arts feat.

Zone of Truth, Find Traps, and Guiding Hand are added to the allowable spell list.

Modifications to the Monks of the Argent Order

Weapon Proficiencies - Replace all monk weapons with the Bastard Swords. This sword is considered a monk weapon. They are taught the Terzi language.

Monastic Traditions - Way of the Open-hand and Way of the Kensei only.

The Kensei can only add Swords (starting with the bastard sword) and maces to their weapons mastered list as they progress.

Other Classes

If a character of another class joins the Order, they are expected to learn the Tala Ma Martial Art's Feat and the Terzi language.

Tala Ma (Way of the Silver Fist) Martial Arts Style

You are trained in the Tala Ma Martial Arts style, consisting of aggressive sword attacks supplemented by open-hand strikes, kicks, grabs, and violent twists combined with the heightening of senses.

Prerequisite:

Be a member of the Argent Order.

Benefits:

  • You gain proficiency in Bastard Swords.
  • You gain proficiency in the Perception skill. If you are already proficient in the skill, you gain expertise.
  • Your open-hand strikes and kicks do d3 + Strength or Dexterity modifier damage.
  • When attacking with a sword or open-hand strike, you can make an open-hand strike as a bonus action.
  • When unarmored and wearing no shield, you can add your Wisdom bonus to armor class.

Silver Swords

All Brothers and Sisters are presented with a Silver Bastard Swords, consecrated by the Pontiff himself. Swords are Dwarven forged and have an enchantment making them much stronger than most steel weapons. These are prized items, and members of the Order will go to great lengths to recover any that are lost.

If the wielder of a Silver Sword is not a worshiper of Larani they will attack at disadvantage.  Worshipers of Larani may use these swords normally, however special magical properties are available only to members of the Argent Order.

After consecration the Sword Wielder uses this sword when performing holy Masses and Vigils.  Any religion skill check in this circumstance are made at advantage.

Talisman of St. Lucidin

Additionally, members of the Order given a small, silver sword amulet, the famous Talismans of St. Lucidin. Boost the wearers resolve and willpower, aiding in resisting the corrupting forces hiding in the shadows.

This amulet increases the wearers Wisdom and Charisma saving throws by +1
