Swarm of Fireflies

Firefly Swarms are magical insects endemic to the Earthmaster Site of Telumar. Their origin is unknown. They may result from this mysterious location's magical or psionic influence. It is theorized that Telumar's spectacular light shows may also be a factor in their creation. Alternatively, some have speculated that they could have been imported from another world, brought in through the buildings Godstones portal.

They dwell in large mustard yellow hives and do not appear to have anything resembling a queen, reproducing by unknown means. A swarm consists of around a thousand glowing insects and possesses an alien collective intelligence. They eagerly feed on warm-blooded creatures, remaining dormant in their hives between meals.
