Sheriff Sir Maldan Harabor
The ambitious Sheriff Meselyneshire is considered by many as the most powerful noble in the Kingdom of Kaldor. He holds Castle Olokand, which has traditionally been held by the Elendsa heir to the throne, and four vassal fiefs, all controlled by powerful barons. Relations with his vassals are strained as they respect Maldan’s abilities but are wary of his ambition.
Maldan is the eldest son of King Miginath, and his mother was a daughter of a mercantyler. He has made it clear that he considers his appointments a clear indication that the king intends him to succeed him despite being an acknowledged bastard. He has been waiting over twenty years to be formally legitimized and is jealous of those of fully noble birth. He devotes much of his energy to acquiring wealth and military power to prove to his father that he is worthy of the crown or to potentially enforce his claim if needed.

694TR - Maldan displayed his martial ability against the Pagaelin Barbarians at Oselbridge and was knighted for his leadership and valor.
695TR - He was transferred to the Royal High Guard for the next four years.
