Halean Notes in Misty Isle of Harn | World Anvil

Halean Notes

Halea is an easy deity to worship. She can be bargained with for her favors and does not care for the morality of her adherents.

Accumulation of pleasure and wealth are the only virtues that matter.

Miscellaneous Notes

Spell Modifications

Cantrips

Thaumaturgy – A Halean Priestess gains the following bonus effects with this cantrip.

Quick Change - A priestess can dress, undress, or change clothes in one casting of Thaumaturgy.

Makeup - A priestess can apply makeup (or a disguise) in one casting of the Thaumaturgy.

Magical Trap

The Golden Coin

This charm, often used by the Priestesses of Halea to guard valuables, is cast on 7 simple coins or low-quality gems, making it appear desirable and precious to potential thieves.

People within 30 ft who view the coins or gems must make a DC15 Wisdom saving throw or have an unswerving desire to possess one. They will make their way directly to a treasure using the safest possible route, and when they touch it, they will be fascinated. While charmed by this trap, the creatures are incapacitated and have a speed of 0. The target receives another saving throw if they take damage or if someone uses an action to try to snap them out of the trance. A fascinated creature could easily starve to death. A charmed creature will attack anyone with melee weapons who attempts to take the coin or gem from him.

The Priestess who created the trap can set the conditions, e.g., do not affect named persons or people wearing the specific awarded items.

Magic Relics

Perfume of Eloquence

This perfume grants a female user Advantage on any Charisma Ability Checks made during Halean rituals or spellcasting. A bottle has up to 30 applications lasting up to 7 hours.

Coins of Good Fortune

These are also called Thalia Coins, named after Halea's Handmaiden Thalia, the Princess of Fortune.

These Magical Silver Coins have a bell inscribed on one side and a dice on the other. They will bestow luck and good fortune on the holder.

The holder rolls d10+10 when acquiring the coin. When making an Ability Check, Saving Throw, or Attack Roll, the holder uses this number rather than rolling. After use, the coin will lose its magical properties and turn into a standard silver piece.
