Scope
The motivation behind building Mirror world
I wanted a brand-new world for my novella's. A world that in so many cases seems so far off of ours. But in so many ways it seems so close. Maybe just on the other side of the mirror.
The goal of the project
I hope to create new and fresh stories. Which seemed to work out just fine.
Mirror world's Unique Selling point
A world divided in Nine Kingdoms, each has their own problems. Problems for the Dragon King, problems for the people who are just living their lives. Come to see what is on the other side of the mirror.
Theme
Genre
There are more types of genre's in this world, but the theme is fantasy/romance. I try to approach this world as our own, not all dark, not all bright. To make it realistic, but with a hint of magic.
Reader Experience
In many ways it breaches the fantastical, with creatures born in myth and legends, like the Unicorn, Minotaur and Sirens. Creatures born in mine own imagination, like the Black Widows. But there is also a sense of realism, with real live troubles.
Reader Tone
Mirror World is a reflection of our world, with magical creatures in it. It is not dark, bright or somewhere in between. But I try to write a candle of hope in the dark parts. A hint of hopelessness in the light parts, and enough shades of gray in those areas.
Recurring Themes
The theme that always comes back is the rise above the problem how difficult it may seem. This I hope to reinforce with my stories.
But I hope with introducing diverse couples, in my stories but also in my articles and the struggles they face. To paint a picture of the struggles in the world on the other side of the mirror.
By writing about the struggles between the Elemental coven and the Negromanti coven. I hope to shine a light on discrimination and how unfair some viewpoints are.
Character Agency
As a writer I hope that I am doing my characters justice. But this is not always easy. Like I said before there are real live problems in my world. This includes bullying, Homophobia, discrimination and the fight to rise above it.
