Transporters
The transporter whined and buzzed, and within a few seconds items began to slowly fizzle into existence on the pad: a small stack of suitcases, a compact, folded, motorbike, a few bags with their straps tangled together. Until, finally, their owner began to appear a foot beside their items. It took only seconds after those first, brief glitters of their appearance forming, but then they were stepping off the pad, their arms held wide for the family waiting to greet them. Their two wives launched themselves at them, and it was a joyous reunion as workers began to retrieve the items and stack them onto a cart nearby.
Utility
The transporter is mainly used for the conveyance of people and their personal effects. It is rarely used commercially for anything larger as it uses an entire floor pad all on its own. Ships, cars, and other large cargo do not fit within most commercial transporter rooms, and the price of building and maintaining a transport system is enough where only the Elite and powerful have the most up-to-date.
Manufacturing
It starts with the frame and basic platform, made on one of the Sharatan's larger moons, which is then shipped by starship down to the The Pier, which serves as entry point into Headquarters. In Headquarters, the platform is further built upon by tradeworkers specifically trained and verified by Theran Goodove for consistency and attention to detail. The powercells are solar-powered, in which such gathering comes from Diadem and, in a smaller capacity, Centauri. The motherboards and specialty wiring, however, are created only on Mergha, in their factory city, Stem.
Access & Availability
Although used by all of the New Terran Societies, its more advanced version is mainly used in Mergha where there is no other way of travel, other than ships, between the cities. The New Terrans Societies’ military presence and The Command Council on Sharatan uses a few unique, specially made transporters that are as large as a military carrier in order to both escalate and build on either of their moons and then teleport them back down into Headquarters. The particularly wealthy, especially those within the The Board of Directors, also have access to the more aesthetically pleasing design of this technology on a daily basis, and the basic and plain commercial versions are sold for the local consumer.
Discovery
The first prototype of the transporter as more than a concept was constructed on Earth by Raymond Goodov, deceased husband of Theran Goodove. Although his husband died before the movement of Neo Terranism, Theran made sure to further his husbands research and development of the technology, succeeding in penning down the final blueprints before he left for the Alpha Avior System, and creating the second prototype within ten years of colonization on Mergha.
